the Sarabande convex mirror

In All, Mirrors by Mark Evans

The Sarabande convex mirror started as a cheap plastic frame. But the size and shape worked for me. I then filled it with resin to make it more substantial and sturdy. The frame was then gilded with gold metal leaf. The curved inner frame is covered with a mosaic of clear, sand and light brown Venetian glass rods. Surrounding the frame are rock crystal points. These crystals are specially glittery because all of the inclusions and rainbows in the crystal’s structure.

The Sarabande convex mirror is about 15 inches in diameter. It is in my studio pending being shipped to one of my showrooms.
