The Horus convex mirror is unusual for me because it is for tabletop display. On the main side the frame is gilded with gold metal leaf and then encrusted with layers of Venetian glass rods. The tips of the frame have spheres of clear rock crystal quartz. The reverse features a smiling bas-relief of the moon trimmed with small Venetian glass.
The Horus mirror measures about 13 inches in height with the stand. The mirror is a little more than 8 inches in diameter.
The Horus mirror is being shipped to my Atlanta showroom, Ainsworth-Noah. Call 404-231-8787 for more information.

Horus is one of the most significant ancient Egyptian deities who served many functions, most notably as the god of kingship, healing, protection, the sun, and the sky.
Horus appears in the form of a falcon whose right eye was the golden sun or morning star, representing power and cosmic purity, and whose left eye was the moon or evening star, representing healing. Falcon cults, which were in evidence from late pre-dynastic times, were widespread in Egypt.
