The Marcus convex mirror is all about the gorgeous lapis-lazuli obelisks/points. The large points create a star around a gold leafed frame where the inner ring is enhanced by clear, cobalt blue Venetian glass rods.
The Marcus convex mirror is a special commission by my New York venue, KRB.
The Marcus mirror is a shade more than 18 inches in diameter.

The Marcus convex mirror is named for the Roman emperor, Marcus Aurelius( 121-180). He was part of a group of “good emperors” where during their reign the empire experienced relative peace, stability and prosperity. He was succeeded by his vile son, Commodus, and a very long string of “bad” emperors began. Watch the movie Gladiator for some fun depictions of Commodus!
Marcus Aurelius was renown as the “philosopher emperor”. Towards the end of his life he wrote Meditations, a treatise about self improvement, governance and duty. In 2019 100,000 copies were sold!
