the Faust convex mirror

In Mirrors by Mark Evans

The Faust convex mirror started out as a wood frame that I gilded with gold metal leaf. The inner frame has three rows of transparent clear Venetian glass rods. They are surrounded by a row of clear glass cabochons.

The Faust convex mirror i about 8 inches in diameter. It was shipped to my Atlanta showroom, Ainsworth-Noah, as part of a special commission. For more information call 404-231-8787.

The story of Faust comes from a German legend about an elderly, disillusioned scholar( Faust) who makes a pact with the devil( Mephistopheles) to become young, powerful, rich and vital again in exchange for his soul. Mayhem, death and degradation ensue.
