th Cythera convex mirror

In Mirrors by Mark Evans

The Cythera convex mirror is all about the beauty of rose quartz. The frame is gilded with silver leaf and layered with a mosaic of transparent, pale pink Venetian glass rods. The rods are topped with rose quartz spheres. The frame is surrounded by a halo of rose quartz; points and large faceted tear drops.

The Cythera convex mirror is around 17 inches in diameter.

This mirror is being shipped to my NYC venue, KRB. Call 212-288-2221 for more information.

The Embarkation for Cythera (“L’embarquement pour Cythère”) is a painting by the French painter Jean-Antoine Watteau in 1717.

The painting depicts amorous couples leaving the island of Cythera on a golden barge. The Greek island of Cythera is said to be the birthplace of the goddess of love, Venus, so the island is dedicated to her worship.
