The name Suzanne is of Hebrew origin, derived from Shoshanah. It means “lily” and symbolizes joy, purity and innocence. In the Middle Ages the French adapted the name for females.
Its variant, Susannah, is a figure in the bible who defends her virtue against a wrongful accusation in the Book of Tobit.

Suzanne is the title of one of Leonard Cohen’s most famous and recorded songs. Written in the mid sixties the song lyrics describe the platonic and poetic relationship Cohen had with the dancer Suzanne Verdal.

But mostly this mirror is named for an old and dear friend, Suzanne Wren, who past away a couple of years ago. She was everything that a good friend should be; loyal, funny, curious, passionate, adventurous, intelligent and had a spark that delighted everyone and made the world a better place. I loved her.
