The Rhapsody convex mirror is all about the dazzle of metallic gold. he frame was leafed in gold metal then layers of clear Venetian glass rods in various diameters were fused to the surface. The rods created prism like refraction of the gold leaf giving the final design great depth.

Rhapsody is a vintage Elizabeth Taylor melodrama from 1954. It revolves around a debutante( Liz) who follows the man she loves and hopes to marry to Zürich where he studies violin at a conservatory. There she meets a piano student who falls madly in love with her. She must then choose between this man who loves her more than his music and the violinist who loves his music more than anything else. A lot of classical music is featured( Liszt, Rachmaninov,Tchaukovsky, etc) to provide a respectable atmosphere. Rhapsody is full of laughable one liners like “Don’t kick him when he is down. Help him get up first.” Then kick him!
