The Odyssey convex mirror features some beautiful lapis-lazuli points from the Mineral Show in Denver. They have a striated quality alternating intense blues with grays, whites and flecks of gold. They surround a gold leafed frame with a string of Venetian blue glass rods.
The Odyssey mirror hangs in my studio pending being shipped to one of my showroom/venues. It measures about 18 inches in diameter.

The Odyssey is an epic poem attributed to Homer and was written in the 8th century, BC. It follows the Greek hero and king of Ithaca, Odysseus, and his homecoming journey after the ten-year long Trojan War. His journey from Troy to Ithaca lasts an additional ten years, during which time he encounters many perils and all of his crewmates are killed. In Odysseus’ long absence, he is presumed dead, leaving his wife Penepole and son Telecachus to contend with a greedy group of unruly suitors competing for Penelope’s hand in marriage.
One of the vivid episodes in the Odyssey is when the sirens attempt to use their enchanting song to lure the titular hero Odysseus and his crew towards deadly waters. As per the Odyssey, Odysseus’ crew had already blocked their ears with wax to protect themselves from the Sirens’ singing, but Odysseus, wanting to hear the Sirens, had ordered his crew to tie him to the mast so that he may have the pleasure of listening without risking himself or his ship.
