The Amneris convex mirror is all about the large golden calcite spheres creating a nimbus around a deep gold metal leafed frame. The golden calcite are interspersed with tiger-eye spheres. The lining of the frame is embellished with transparent Venetian glass rods in light topaz, gold and clear colors. This mirror is a shade under 12 inches in diameter.
The Amneris convex mirror is being shipped to my Carmel-by-the-Sea venue, Cayen Home. Call 831-626-2722 for more information.

A sketch for a production of Aida by Franco Zeffirelli
Aida is a grand opera by Verdi. It premiered in Cairo, Egypt in 1871. It takes place in ancient Egypt and revolves around Aida( a slave who is secretly an Ethiopian princess, Radames( an Egyptian captain of the guard) and Amneris( the daughter of the pharaoh). Amneria is jealous of the suspected love between Aida and Radames and is sent into a tailspin of unrequited love, fury and a thirst for revenge. Naturally she is my favorite character.
In the opera Amneris has a barn burner of a scene where she chews out the priests who have condemned Radames to death. Here is a taped performance by Fiorenza Cossotto from the Metropolitan Opera in 1985. Watch to the end. She blows the roof off!
