the Murano Convex Mirror

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Murano convex mirror is my tribute to the glassworkers who toil on the island of Murano to supply me with all the glass rods I use in my mirrors.  Four shades of glass compose this mirror creating an ombré from light to dark.  I added glass and crystal spheres to soften the linear rigidity of the rods.

The “mirror” at the center is actually a mirror covered with a large glass lens.  The proverbial “mirror with no reflection”.

The Murano convex mirror is around 23 inches in diameter.
