The Semiramide convex mirror is composed of a thick gold metal leafed frame that has the inner moldings embellished with layers of pale gold, clear, rose gold and cobalt blue Venetian glass. A halo of blue quartz/crystal( these are made from ground quartz fused together with resin and other compounds) points surround the frame.
The Semiramide convex mirror is around 22 inches in diameter. It resides in my studio pending being shipped to one of my showrooms/venues.

Semiramide was a mythical ruler of ancient Assyria. She remains the only female to have ruled the Babylonian empire around 800 BC. She is credited as the first builder of Babylon.
Semiramide ruled until her son came of age but since she was a female there have been a lot of fantastic tales about her. Like she killed her elderly husband, Nimrod, and assumed the throne. Or that her son was banished and when he appeared as a young man, Simiramide fell in love with him. Or that she died of fright when confronted by the ghost of her murdered husband. Or that she turned herself into a dove to escape a rebellion against her rule. I would have enjoyed knowing her! At least as a dinner guest.
Gioachino Rossini wrote an opera based on Semiramide’s story in 1823. It positively bristles with coloratura fireworks so check it out!
