the Sarastro convex mirror

In Mirrors by Mark Evans

The Sarastro convex mirror is different for me because its an oval shape. More significant is that the oval convex glass was mirrored in 22 carat gold leaf! The frame is surrounded with citrine points and the inner part of the frame are gold resin jewels that I made. This is a glamorous piece!

The Sarastro convex mirror measures 13 inches by 10 inches. It resides in my studio pending being shipped to one of my showrooms.

Sarastro is the name of a high priest/king who rules through wisdom and benevolence in Mozart’s The Magic Flute( 1791). He represents the enlightened world of reason and light. His temple is dedicated to light.
