the Priam convex mirror

In All, Mirrors by Mark Evans

The Priam convex mirror is rich in gold tones. From the Venetian glass rods to the yellow jade teardrops and the faceted bronze glass spheres the result is sumptuous.

The Priam convex mirror is about 10 inches in diameter. It resides in my studio pending being shipped to one of my showrooms.

Iris encourages Priam to beg Achilles for the body of Hector
ca. 1810-20

Priam was the King of Troy and was a major character in the story of the Trojan War. He was the father of Paris( Rumor has it that Priam had fifty children with his wife Hecuba) who started the war by abducting Helen. As in all stories in Greek mythology the end of the Trojan War is unbelievably tragic. Read up on it….But Priam’s death took place in the temple of Zeus. He was clubbed to death on the altar. He was 80.
