The Fireworks convex mirror is a celebration of all things silver and transparent. Layers of clear Venetian glass rods over a silver gilt frame with and explosion(!) of rock crystal quartz points surrounding the central mirror.
The Fireworks convex mirror is about 27 inches high and 16 inches wide.

Fireworks were developed during the Song Dynasty in China (960-1279) and were introduced in Europe in the 14th century but achieved a high level in the late 17th century.

Perhaps the most famous piece of music dedicated to the art of fireworks is by Handel, The Music for Royal Fireworks( 1794). Presented outdoors in London to massive crowds the music was a success but the fireworks were a bust. Given the damp from the river Thames the fireworks refused or were very slow to light. But the music endures!
