the Benvolio convex mirror

In Mirrors by Mark Evans

The Benvolio convex mirror was a special commission as a companion piece for my Tebaldo mirror. Benvolio is smaller but has similar materials: A thick gold metal leafed frame encrusted with a mosaic of Venetian glass rods and surrounded with large rock quartz crystal points. The mirror is a half dome which reflects in a dramatic way.

The Benvolio convex mirror is about 17 inches in diameter. The commission was through my Atlanta showroom, Ainsworth-Noah.

Benvolio is a fictional character in Shakespeare’s tragedy Romeo & Juliet. He is Romeo’s cousin and tries his best to prevent the bloody clashes between the Montague and Capulet families. He’s one of the good guys.
