Here is my Juliet Mirror.
I started with a sunburst frame that I did a rough, antiqued gold gilding on then I added layers of gold, topaz, grey and aquamarine Venetian glass. These are undoubtedly Venetian colors! Think Veronese.
It measures 24 inches in diameter.

Naturally every mirror that I make has a story. Its named Juliet after the character in Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. The mirror has the reddish golds of the Italian renaissance that bloomed in the Veneto( not just Florence). The shots of aquamarine refer to the waterways of the region.
