The Bourbon Dynasty: Louis XVI: The Bumbling Locksmith( 1754-1792)

$ 750.00

Louis XVI: One of the most misunderstood of the Bourbon kings, Louis was a kindly, well intentioned and gentle. He had the misfortune to reign during the raging currents of the French revolution where his hesitation, lack of imagination and his lack of self-confidence doomed him.

Beheaded in the terror. He died with great dignity.

Louis intended to be a good father to his people and he said “It may be considered politically unwise, but it seems to me to be the general wish and I want to be loved.”

Note: A typical breakfast for Louis XVI consisted of four chops, a roasted chicken, a thick slice of ham, four baked eggs and a bottle and a half of champagne.
